Types Of Threaded Inserts

• Molded-in inserts – these inserts are used in high end equipments and machineries for their high performance; at the same time they are costly too. This type of insert needs to be handled with high care and even a small mistake might lead to huge losses.

• Self-taping inserts – these US Tappex inserts do not require a drilling machine to make holes but can make holes themselves in the material. This type gives the best pull-out performance but here again installation needs to be done with care which otherwise might not gel well with the holes.

• Other cheap types of inserts are press-in and expansion inserts which are predominantly used for non -critical applications.
